Panoramas

These presentations employ a technique developed by Fergus Reilly and rely on javascript which must be enabled on your browser if you want to view the pictures.

They present a highly-compressed wide-angle (up to 360o) view of a local scene in a new window. This window is intended solely for viewing the panorama on your computer and will not have the usual toolbar.

When you've seen enough, click the "close window" button on the panorama window which should return you to this window.

You will need to use the bottom scrollbar of the new window to pan the image. You can usually obtain a smooth "panning" effect by clicking and holding the mouse button down on the arrows at either end of the bottom scrollbar.

These images are made by "stitching" up to 20 individual photographs together. The camera is generally handheld and a significant time elapses between shots - sometimes this results in peculiar visual "artefacts" and curious shading effects.

I have grouped them into mainly natural scenes where the main element is a natural environment and mainly man-made where development is dominant.
..............enjoy!.
