where water rushes through rainforestThis park takes its name from an Aboriginal word meaning 'rushing waters' - a reference to Skene Creek's 80 metre fall into the rainforest-filled valley. 128 hectares of lush forest just south of Montville offers picnicking, bird- and wildlife-watching and walking all year round.Early mornings offer the best opportunities to witness the many denizens of the bush, including shy platypus, going about their daily routines. Toilets, barbeques, tables and shelter sheds add to the creature comforts of the park. Swimming is a possibility but visitors need to be aware of the hazards of slippery rocks and cold water. No camping is permitted but there are many nearby accommodation venues. |
